Compounding is the use of abrasive compounds to remove paint defects like oxidation, sanding marks, swirl marks, bird droppings, hairline scratches, etc from the painted surface of the vehicle. Compounding is going one step further than just polishing. This process requires an aggressive cleaner/compound to revitalize old, dull and worn out paint. The compound that we apply uses a new technology called the “diminishing abrasive technology”, which means that the abrasives in this compound gradually starts to break down the paint defect quickly and effectively with each pass of the buffing machine. This process results in a smooth surface with high enriched gloss. Compounding should always be followed by polishing and/or waxing to remove the remaining minor defects and protect the smooth finish of the pained surface. .
